We have been hearing about a good God.
A God who is all-powerful.
A God who loves his children.
And it looks as though, with a God like this, the world should be a pretty fine place to live in. But there is a problem. . . .
Seeing Our Situation Clearly
It is important to see this problem in all its starkness. Perhaps the following exhibit can drive the point home:
Children Lose Lives in School Bus Accident. All hope was abandoned today for the lives of 43 children whose school bus plummeted into the Yellow River last night when the middle span of the south bridge gave way under the weight of the bus. Divers have recovered all but 5 of the bodies.
Why should God let that happen to innocent children?

Can that wife and her two children believe in a loving God?
(Fade out music) And now for the six o'clock news. Here's a recent dispatch just received over our wires from India. The worst famine in India's history is now a grim reality. Officials are unable to quell rioters who are storming local granaries demanding food for families. In several localities police have been forced to fire on the mobs.
Have you tried Kleeno, the new all-purpose cleanser that makes everything whiter?
Can the Indians believe that God is the Father of all men?
